Catch The Caching Fever

Armed only with a GPS device and an adventurous spirit, geocachers are modern-day treasure hunters. Their quest is to navigate a specific set of GPS co-ordinates and try to locate a geocache—or treasure—in a waterproof container hidden at that location. The cache isn’t something valuable. Rather, it contains a log book and perhaps some small toys or knick-knacks. Sign the log and help yourself to a trinket and replace it with one you brought along to be left behind for the next geocacher. Indeed, the treasure is not the reward. The fun is in the search.

The secret to geocaching is that it gets you outdoors. The degree of difficulty lies in the distance you need to travel and difficulty of the terrain. Some are simple to find; others are a more rigorous test of your orienteering skills, others might require you to puzzle out an answer to get to the log book.
