Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Apsley - Woodview - Northern Peterborough County

Freezing rain expected beginning this afternoon and ending this evening.

Periods of ice pellets or freezing rain are expected to move into Eastern Ontario this afternoon. A brief period of snow may precede the freezing rain, but any snowfall accumulations should be fairly minimal.

The freezing rain will likely persist for several hours this afternoon into the evening. Ice accumulations of a few millimetres are possible.

The freezing rain will change to flurries this evening.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

  • Lindsay - Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City - Lakefield - Southern Peterborough County

Freezing rain expected beginning this morning and ending later this afternoon.

Periods of ice pellets or freezing rain are expected to move into Southwestern Ontario this morning and advance eastward to reach the Golden Horseshoe later this morning. A brief period of snow may precede the freezing rain, but any snowfall accumulations are expected to be minimal.

Although the freezing rain will likely persist for several hours today, ice accumulations are expected to limited to a few millimetres at most as the freezing rain should be fairly light.

The freezing rain will change to flurries later this afternoon or early evening.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Fenelon Falls - Balsam Lake Park - Northern Kawartha Lakes

Snow today with a risk of ice pellets and freezing rain.

Snow will develop across a swath of Southern Ontario this morning and persist for much of the day. General snowfall accumulations of near 10 cm are likely, although some areas may approach 15 cm.

There is also a risk of ice pellets and freezing rain in some regions.

The precipitation will end from west to east late this afternoon or evening.
