The Peterborough Wolverines junior varsity team won the Ontario championship on Saturday.
The Wolverines defeated the Brantford Bisons 43-35 to win the Ontario Football Conference Championship. The game was played in front of fans at Thomas A. Stewart (TAS) school. Conditions weren’t ideal as gusts of wind forced players to adjust. However, the Wolverines adapted and held on to win despite a three-touchdown surge by the Bisons in the fourth quarter.
The junior Wolverines advanced to the championship game after a convincing 49-7 victory over the Huronia Stallions to win the Ramsay Conference Championship last week.
