The Municipal Heritage Committee of the Township of Selwyn is pleased to announce that they are hosting Selwyn Heritage Day on Saturday, February 24th in celebration of National Heritage Week (Feb. 19th-24th).
Enjoy displays of early Lakefield Council meeting minutes, Heritage Art Contest submissions and military memorabilia from the Lakefield Legion museum. Don't miss out on a deer hide drum-making demonstration put on by Curve Lake First Nation, Wampum Belts representing historic treaties among nations, wooden carvings and toys from yesteryear; as well as a fun history trivia contest!
This event is completely FREE to enjoy and is a perfect event to enjoy with friends and family of all ages!
Hosted in partnership with the Selwyn Municipal Heritage Committee, Lakefield Legion Branch 77, Christ Church Community Museum, Trent Valley Archives, Curve Lake First Nation, Brian Charles and Rev. Murray Lincoln.
